But if i set minrate to "0" my player gets chokes and if i set it to "50000" there is no choke at all

So plz suggest me value of "sv_minrate" by which player did'nt get any choke

There are too many variables that affect choke that we can't just say a number and it will magically work for everybody. There are many documents that explain and suggest rates depending on certain variables.

Well, i'd like a sugestion too.
I have a Half-Life server.


"sys_ticrate" is "100.0"
With sys_ticrate 1000 it's ~500 FPS

sv_minrate 0
sv_maxrate 18750
sv_maxupdaterate 63

Upload Speed: In my country, my upload speed goes even to 7 MB/s. In other countries, 1-2 MB/s. This are MB/s, not Mbps.
CPU: AMD 1.6 Ghz
RAM: 700MB

So, it's ok with my settings?

are u using dial up connection? 0.48mbps? this is to low to create own server. upgrade ur internet

0.48 mbps =maxplayer 8

sv_minrate 50000 <<< this should be set to 0 ( for the dial up user to connect )
sv_maxrate 4000 <<<< raise it to 12000

with that internet speed you can forget about CS server, better buy VPS hosting... because no one good player will play with such rates ...
