If the plugin is stable then there will be no adverse side effects. The .amxx files load on map start. There are three occasions that I can think of that they load: hlds boot up, restart, mapchange.

When I test plugins the only thing I usually do is a restart and it loads the latest version of my plugin.

Big thanks fysiks!

Does that mean that it also reloads the plugin at mapchange? This would be fantastic in my case cause i have running warservers that i could update more easy.

Make sure you have tested them and that they are stable before putting them on those servers if you want to be absolutely sure they will run as smoothly as possible. Although, there is always a change of incompatibility but unlikely if you take precautions.
