Hello everyone!

I noticed, to be honest some quite time ago that there's a new minecraft like game.

Doesn't minecraft have copyrights or something?

I created this thread since i also want to create minecraft like game.
The only ideas i would take are:

Blocky and unlimited world, Crafting & mining, Monsters at night, The idea of selling: The game will be free to play even in online, it is free to create an account yet if you wish to have customized character then you have to pay. Also may game will include more custom stuff like clothes, hats and things and there will be a special ones what can be brought ( perhaps something even more since im full of ideas )

The npc or enemies will be ofcourse my own creation including models/sounds/textures, pretty much everything what makes up the game.

My question is that can i do it without getting into trouble?
I never published the game or sold one before, i have no idea how things work yet i have been creating my costom game engines and small unfinished games just for fun.


Also about the graphics, well my wish is to bring something unseen to daylight.
Graphics itself will be using modern methods
( dynamic shadows, normal maps, dynamic cube maps, ray tracing perhaps? ... still creating my own algorithms tho "sorthing by normals" was an idea )
The graphic will be cartoon & fantasy style.
( many of my own methods will be included what i created while i was working with game engine )

- Basic idea
Day: cute and beautiful
Night: creepy and scary

I think there will be a story for a game. Something dramatic.
And i think thats about it.

if you want i can help you with the game story. Just need to know if the game will be for +18. Need to think about what the story can contain.

It will be a child friendly.
Story should not be really scary or twisted, it have to be something dramatic and emotional.
Edit: it have to be appropriate for every kind or age.

Since it can be multiplayer game, its complicated. I could make some dramatic love story, but it would sound like bang, cuz its a lot of people
Yet, if you want to make a zombie game:
- Humans only have stuff like knife and punching, no guns at all.
- Zombies need to bite and slow infection with constant fades.

Story for zombie game:
5 years ago, at Acirfa one man got infected by some old virus as know as Alobe. The humanity could controll it, but what they didn't know was that it was just a test by some crazy scientist. 2 weeks ago, that scientist released his final version of the virus. He is immune to the virus and he can control who is infected by it. If you don't give an end to the apocalypse, the apocalypse will give an end to you!

nah, no way im going to include or ever make a game about zombies.
Like 4,5 years worked with zombie servers and i think i had my dose for at least one life time of mine.

Im not sure if i need help with the story, i just need time and inspiration thats all.
Also i think its too early to even talk about story since we dont really know if i can create game like im having in my mind. ( since the copyright thing you know ... )

Networking is not complicated. Making Minecraft with Unity3D is easy as cake.

Oh, i thought you meant some.
Well, i really dont know anything about unity3D.
Im planning to write engine by myself, specially made for a game needs.
It will be c++ & opengl and i also want to make it for xbox and ps4 yet i think its the future thing.

I highly recommend to not write your own engine if it is not neccessary.
