New: decals in Texture Browser displays with theirs real colors. And decals in 3D View displays with transparent (like in game, without white background):

It stops responding while loading texture packs, can it be caused by the large amount of textures or file size?

Edited, just started a new map and this happened : IMAGE

Likely you have one (or more) WAD file, which have (content) animated textures like this:
+0aaa, +1aaa, +2aaa, etc., but with losed frame (+0aaa, +1aaa, +3aaa).
In this case you got crash like on your screenshot. Yes, it's bug, which fixed for now, but exist in 1.1.500 version .
So, try to find WAD file with this broken animation sequence and fix it (use Wally).

Applying prefabs like applying decals with one click in 3D window will be amazing and easy in the same time. Finding the right size of a prefab is hard and in most cases it looks weird.
