Hello, I have a dedicated server with i7 3770, 8 gb ram 1866mhz & 250gb kingston ssd.
I have 2 csgo servers on it, 32 slots both & 128 tickrate. When both servers are full, var goes to 1-2 (yellow/red).
I disabled power saver, now I have 3.9ghz all the time.
On the same dedicated server I have my small website for sourcebans & other things, fastdownload & mariadb server.
Is i7 3770 still good for this kind of work? What should I do?
Is taskset -c a good ideea?
I dont want to install another kernel.

That's your key!

Reduce slot count to 18, see if it works fine there.

If it does, you can try lightly increasing it up towards 24 and see if that works too.

I wouldn't expect more than 24 slots, while also expecting 128 tick to work "properly".

In that case, deactivate turbo mode as well.

CPU itself gives 3.4 GHz, only with turbo mode it gives you 3.9.

Turbo mode is also known to cause stability issues.

Oh shit...

Move as a bare minimum, the fast download somewhere else. That kind of thing has absolutely nothing to do on the same physical machine you are running game servers from.

Clients will be "hammering" your fastdownload server when they join, which will cause Apache (or whatever you run) to spend many resources on serving them.

The fast download itself will (when multiple clients are downloading at once) trigger DDoS like effects towards your precious machine / game server.

Separate them now.

(Take SourceBans and other non-game server stuff with you, away from the physical machine housing SRCDS )

Should still be just fine, if you're doing your set up and configurations properly.

No. Let the OS handle such things itself.

I don't want to post a new thread, so i post here.
I have the same CPU on my dedicated server, with 2 servers (128tickrate + GOTV)
Debian 10 x64, IP-Projects GmbH & Co. KG Mirror Kernel (4.18.20-xen-md)
cpufreq (performance) with turbo boost (ON).
Then i get 22+, it starts a bit laggy.
I upload "sm prof dump vprof log" and my optimization cfg...

PHP Code:

Why (4.18.20-xen-md) ?? Why not 5.2.15-gs-md_5215_amd64.deb ? GS came from GameServer.

Yeah you are using a kernel which was optimized for virtualization rather than hosting game servers.
I wouldn't expected much more than 24 slots.

I read this: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showpo...05&postcount=9 But i didn't know, which choose (xen, gs-md or else). What's why...

If you say so, I try 5.2.15-gs-md_5215_amd64.deb, but i found: 5.3.7-gs-md_537_amd64.deb, but just i dont know is it better or not.

5.2.15 is the latest stable 5.2.x kernel.

Do you have checked this thread on the forum?

I don't think it will help since you _NEED_ a CustomKernel with 100Hz for run 32 slots (example.) **But you can always test it out!**
