This uses particles, which as far as I know, CSS doesn't support. Maybe CSS2 if/when it comes out, will support it.

Have you looked at this one?

Is this still working for anyone else? On a couple servers, the particles are staying in 1 place (usually where they spawn) and it stays. Also the particles are staying there every time they respawn and if they disconnect later, the particle stays there in the spawn area.

There was a problem with overriding sm_trailme so that it would be available only to X admin flag, so here's a version that makes sm_trailme respect overrides. It also uses ShowActivity2 in place of a lot of the PrintToChats.

It should also work with other games (as long as they have info_particle_system), not just TF2 (though you'll probably need to change the particle cvar).

Works great for me... the only thing I did was change the default particle effect cause it went back to default after each server restart and I didn't like the default cause for some odd reason I think it had a huge effect on low end graphics cards...even some high ends that made them run hotter than as if you ran Crysis wide open.

It looks like CheckCommandAccess doesn't work for RegConsoleCmd's either.
Here's something that should work (it should allow you to override sm_trailme).

Hey strontiumdog, if you're still around, in all your plugins can you replace RegConsoleCmd with RegAdminCmd(command, callback, 0, description)?
This will allow the server operators to override those commands, so that they can change the admin flag required to use them, as in sm_trailme here.

hey there I'm kind of new to Source mod for Tf2. For some reason I can only set trails from the online control panel's console and not mine. also is there any way to add a custom admin menu to switch the trails? I tried and got nowhere.
