No lol, that's not a scam.

it's cheap cause they use pretty old hardware (see dedicated server section).
which is fine if they don't run to many game servers per box.

btw, it's not that hard to find cheap (old) servers these days,
within the last 2 years more then 25% of all servers world wide
were disconnected for the costs and the financial crisis.

so you can lower your costs on the long way if you buy such hardware
and just pay the housing in a datacenter.
