so ive hosted a server without fast download first , all worked out fine exept the slow download speeds , so i actually rented a webspace specially for fast download , i uploaded evrything (http://www.gamemaps.nl/mortelmans/)

so when i test it like for exaple aim_ak-colt , first without fast download i could easily connect , buth when i actually remove the map from my map folder in cstrike and i download it when i connect to the server (it goes fast so the download works , sizes of the files are oke to) i get: "can not connect to server" , in my console of my server i dont get errors , the player just dropped or sometimes buth verry rarely i get to see this WARNING: datagram overflowed for when some1 tries to connect when he downloaded like a map with fast download

Create a cstrike directory and put whatever you have in mortelmans to the cstrike directory.

And then add this to your server.cfg:

sv_downloadurl "http://gamemaps.nl/mortlmans/cstrike/"

See if that fixes the problem, though I doubt it.

did it , dusnt make any difference. i'm thinking there is something wrong with my server instead of the webspace as i tried multiple webspaces now , i've rented a server now to check it out if it makes a difference


k so i tested same map on the rented one , when i try to change the map , server times out , its a clean server no addons , nothing
ive tried it with multiple maps also. i guess it could be the webspace xD

For some odd reason, a lot of people think and repeat mindlessly that this is a requirement. It is not. It would be nice to get rid of this misunderstanding for once and for all.

in addition to that may be its not your addons or web space its that the cs supports only 132(or 124 do't remember the correct value) character url(length of url which includes the last file with the longest name) so it bugs the same as mentions above so try to short ur url.hope it will help
