Did you ever try ln -s instead of cp -rs? IMO ln -s better than cp -rs.

I fork almost all of my servers, have never had a single issue.

The only problem I have with the setup is that I'm using Linux Gameserver Manager, along with a Server Crontab plugin on each server (daily reboot of the server at 3am when the servers are all empty, I find that leaving a server running for like 2 weeks straight causes severe server-side server-wide framerate choppiness after a while), as well as Dr. McKay's Auto Steam Updater plugin.

I'm afraid of having multiple servers that run both those plugins trying to compete over updating using the same SteamCMD installation, and trying to update the same directory multiple times. That's my main worry. When I imagine it in my head, I foresee four servers trying to run the same SteamCMD and update the same files at the same time. This then causes a huge disaster in which the server install inevitably ends up horribly broken and the servers never end up starting back up.

So that leads me to believe that I need to design some sort of custom system that shuts down all my TF2 servers at the same time after 5 minutes when an update is detected (like Auto Steam Update), runs SteamCMD, updates the files, then when that's done, starts all the servers back up automatically.

And that seems like a daunting task to me. I may just be overthinking it though, as I have begun using cannabis a bit more than usual as of late.

I noticed the first problem with your setup here almost immediately. My servers tend to become inoperable when large amounts of cannabis are added to the setup. I generally find that cannabis is not needed at any point in the server pipeline and tends only to get stuck in the systems fans.

The second bit I found equally interesting. I reboot daily although I do a complete system reboot, at 5am. Each one of mine run for around 23 hours 55 minutes. The machine is then completely rebooted and all issues that may have appeared more or less fix themselves. I dont use any managers or any of that stuff.
