Man let me start off by saying great plug, I had been waiting for this for a while now. Also everyone this is a great plug to use with this one http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=751952

Here is a quick guide to using this plugin with the a4d plugin and a vs.cfg on a linux server. Make sure you have both the plugins installed before starting step 1.

1. First is make a new notepad text doc and copy and paste this in it
Code:
sm_cvar tongue_break_from_damage_amount 300
sm_cvar tongue_choke_damage_amount 5
sm_cvar tongue_cone_start_tolerance 0.004999
sm_cvar tongue_dropping_to_ground_time 0.500000
sm_cvar tongue_hit_delay 15
sm_cvar tongue_kill_smoker_on_detach 0
sm_cvar tongue_los_forgiveness_time 1.5
sm_cvar tongue_no_progress_choke_early_delay 1
sm_cvar tongue_miss_delay 3
sm_cvar z_exploding_splat 0
sm_cvar z_gas_limit 2
sm_cvar z_hunter_limit 2
sm_cvar z_max_stagger_duration 0.899999
sm_cvar z_pounce_damage_interrupt 150
sm_cvar z_spawn_safety_range 200
sm_cvar z_lunge_distance_damage 1
sm_cvar z_pounce_damage_range_min 300
sm_cvar z_pounce_stumble_radius 160
sm_cvar z_scrimmage_creep_rate 100
sm_cvar z_scrimmage_creep_delay 0
sm_cvar director_race_mode 1
sm_cvar z_ghost_allowed_in_battlefield 1
sm_cvar commentary_available 0
sm_cvar z_ghost_los_expected_progress 2000
sm_cvar director_swap_teams 1
now save it as vs.txt, then right click on vs.txt and rename it to vs.cfg.

2. Upload your vs.cfg in l4d/left4dead/cfg dir on your server

3. Start a VS game on a normal VS map

4. Once you are on your server and the game has started go in console and type a4d_always_force_versus 1 hit enter then type sm_execcfg vs.cfg hit enter and last type sm_map l4d_airport01_greenhouse for dead air and sm_map l4d_smalltown01_caves for death toll and hit enter

5. Enjoy dead air and death toll on VS with people being able to join the game if some one leaves or if the game is not full

I have been using this plug for about 2 weeks with out any problems at all.

P.S. even with this plunin running on my server it seems I can still play co-op games with out a problem

Can you post your server.cfg and list of mods? I can get into the map just fine with your instructions, but no one else can join after someone leaves. I'm wondering if another mod or something in your cfg is making it work. Thanks!

Well to me it sounds like you dont have this meta mod plugin working. Let me know a few things.

1. When you change the map to death toll or dead air is it in VS or Co-op mode?
2. Have you done meta list in the l4d screen that is run your server to see if the plug is listed? It will show up as
Left 4 Dead Server Tools (1.0.0.0) By CrimsonGT
3.Did you use the .dll or the .so file?

Let me know and maybe I can help you.

I am having problems getting this to work on linux. I believe you don't use linux since you have been running this plugin for 2 weeks (.so was released five days ago) Anyway, the .so from "Release" folder was uploaded to left4dead/addons/metamod/bin/ and the .vdf from the windows package was put into left4dead/addons/metamod/
This gave me nothing.

[02] <NOFILE>
[03] SDK Tools (1.2.0-dev) by AlliedModders LLC
[04] BinTools (1.2.0-dev) by AlliedModders LLC
I asked the author (Crimson) and even Predcrab who compiled it, but they just thought I talked nonsense. I believe the "Nofile" is telling me either that the .so is incomplete or something's missing.
I'm running Metamod:Source version 1.7.1-dev - Build ID: 62826e468615ed-dev and SourceMod Version: 1.2.0-dev
Build ID: 2582:81a9781157c7-dev
I did even try the .so from the Degbug folder. Nothing. Is there anyone who have got the .so to work and mind telling me were I should put it?

It should be...

addons\l4dservertools\bin\l4dservertools.so
addons\metamod\l4dservertools.vdf

*Edit*

Heres a package with everything in it for either operating system.

File Type: rar l4dservertools.rar (100.6 KB, 210 views)

Everything looks right their, dosen't it? But the restart gave me nothing. Something's cuasing this problem (I believe myself that the .so is the problem, we haven't got anyone confirming the .so to be working and
the author of it, predcrab, hasn't even tried it. He said to me he had just compiled it.

I look forward to the time when this won't be necessary.

Im running this plugin on my friends Window server and Im running it on my linux server... I would never run a windows server myself but that is why I said 2 weeks. Now it what sounds like is you are not loading the plugin. You have to do more then just drop the .so file on your server. Once you have it up on your server try typing in your server l4d screen meta load 02 and see what it does. But I know for sure that both the dll for windows and the so work.

[01] SourceMod (1.2.0-dev) by AlliedModders LLC
[02] Left 4 Dead Server Tools (1.0.0.0) By CrimsonGT
[03] SDK Tools (1.2.0-dev) by AlliedModders LLC
[04] BinTools (1.2.0-dev) by AlliedModders LLC

is what I see when I type in meta list, but this is what I saw before I loaded the plugin

[01] SourceMod (1.2.0-dev) by AlliedModders LLC
[02] <NOFILE>
[03] SDK Tools (1.2.0-dev) by AlliedModders LLC
[04] BinTools (1.2.0-dev) by AlliedModders LLC

which is what you see right?

I little update cause now I recall what I did. In your case do this

Step 1
In your l4d screen type meta unload 02

Step 2
In your l4d screen type meta load addons/l4dservertools/bin/l4dservertools.so

Step 3 (only do if needed) I had to edit the l4dservertools.vdf in addons/metamod/l4dservertools.vdf. The one that comes in the zip file has this code in it if you open it with notepad or notepad++

Code:
"Metamod Plugin"
{
	"alias" "l4dservertools"
	"file" "addons/l4dservertools/bin/l4dservertools"
}
I had to change the code to this

Code:
"Metamod Plugin"
{
	"alias" "l4dservertools"
	"file" "addons/l4dservertools/bin/l4dservertools.so"
}
