depends on what u use for linux its automatically enabled when u put -autoupdate in the server start line. for windows the above mentioned programs would be it. server is tried and true for me. set it to like 60 seconds and it will check every 60 seconds if HL is up or not and will start it if not.

But since 0.16 is still so unstable, much of us haven't switched over to AMXx yet!

Once 0.20 is out, I'll be switching over, but not until then.

Im sorry but how exactly is it unstable? I have yet to break it with every thing I do to it... the only time .16 fails me is when there is something wrong with an addon i.e. plugin or module... I wouldnt say "much of us", more like a few people who mysteriously have the notion that AMX was "not" a beta....

This is flamebait, 0.16 is just as stable as 0.9.8, it's 0.20 that will be the first test of stability as much more will have actually changed. Instability in 0.16 is usually the result of past 0.9.8 flaws being revealed.

@Bailo I would humbly suggest splitting this topic now.

@thantik : check out a "real" server, check the 8- 10 second map changes or less. its your plugins / hardware configuration's fault not the admin utility itself.

Actually, they are known bugs...if you'd like I'll go find the topic in which bailo himself tells me of such bug. Secondly, I would like to be able to have the shield enabled in my server. (Thats the cstats problem)

Also, there is a function used which will cause the server to crash after map change, and I believe that problem has been resolved in 0.20.

Old 06-21-2004 , 15:34   linux version in a zip file?
#29

Hey, any chance I can get that linux update in a zip file? I'm updating to a Linux based server through ftp using Win XP. So to extract the files, I need a Windows based extractor. Or...is there a Windows based extractor that could extract this file for me? Thanks.
