I installed HLDS from steamCMD using the following commands:-
Code:
Login anonymous

force_install_dir

app_update 90

app_update 90 validate "x5"

Yes I uninstalled Steam completely, and it keeps on shutting down. I really don't know what's wrong.

EDIT: I uninstalled steam again and restarted my laptop, it didn't work. my server on the other pc works with steam installed.

Are those the exact (letter for letter) commands that you used with SteamCMD? If yes, then it's not correct.

See the second example here for installing an HL1 mod like Counter-Strike (cstrike), Day of Defeat (dod), or Counter-Strike: Condition Zero (czero).

I can't say those are the exact words I wrote. Like the force_install_dir I wrote my directory here, and in app_update 90 validate. I wrote it 5 times.

And those are the same commands I wrote on my other PC which is working.

Is it because of my OS?

Btw, If I downloaded HLDS using SteamCMD, is it called Standalone HLDS or Steam Integrated HLDS?

I tried using the beta version. They all require me logged in Steam itself.

Servers downloaded via SteamCMD are referred to as "Standalone Dedicated Servers" (because they don't require Steam to run like the "Half-Life Dedicated Server" installed from Steam Tools does).

Like I said, you need to read the link that I gave you so you can download your server correctly.

That's what I did.

The server works on my old PC, but it doesn't here.

Sometimes it just starts normally, and sometimes it shutdown on start up with the error Shutting Down : Unable to initialize steam.

Do I need to edit anything in liblist.gam?

liblist.gam doesn't change if you don't change the OS (Windows, Linux).

So what am I supposed to do?

When I was using old version of HLDS, it was working fine.

Until I updated it. :/

Did you re-download it directly from SteamCMD on your new computer?

Yes, but I still have the old build, I don't want to use it though, it's laggy.
