Haha figures. Sorry to hear you had to re-do your entire database.

Ha it was no issue, installing sorcebans is easy and the only important table is the bans. They import well so its OK
Having said that re-adding admins is a pain in the arse it would be cool if you could mass add them like the "Ban Reasons" setup in settings where you can click the "+" icon and add another line on the fly

That'd be nifty though. An admin import/export feature.

I have an issue with my servers that I've been trying to solve for a long time now.

When I ban a player, the console outputs the correct response "Player ___ was banned for 10 minutes for reason", and the ban is added to my web panel, but the player is not kicked.

When I type /kick playername, the console outputs that they have been kicked, but it doesn't actually kick them.

In essence, it isn't kicking them from the server, but if they try to reconnect it will say "STEAMID has been banned from this server etc".

Any ideas?

Well he pasted a link to the error page that explains allowing "Remote MySQL" via cpanel.

Read more of the thread mev its brought up allot. Your webhost has most likely got your ports blocked by a firewall.
That ip in your database file thats your web address and not your game address yeah? And the user and pass is the same to access your mysql?

Yeah maybe. You need to ask them to allow your game server port xx.xx.xx.xx.27015 or whatever yours may be. Maybe explain what its for.

To allow your game server to access mySQL on your web host plan you need to access the icon in Cpanel that says "Remote MySQL"

and allow your server ip address.
xx.xx.xx.xx

If you have more than one game server with various port numbers you need to add
xx.xx.xx.xx%

i.e I have 3 servers running on the same IP with different ports
203.98.81.15:27091
203.98.81.15:27038
203.98.81.15:27190
so I add
203.98.81.15%
to my remote Access Hosts. The wildcard "%" is just to allow all ports on that IP address.

If all this fails you will probably have to ask your web host to help with access

This is an inquiry into whether sourcebans has any steamID spoofing protection.

Recently, it seems that a player on our servers was spoofing his steamID. He could circumvent player's votebans on him, until we noticed the discrepancy through sourcebans and gave him an IP ban.

The bans can be seen at: http://sourcebans.surf-infamous.com/index.php?p=banlist
The player in question is the Raiden character.

Anyway, the reason for this was simply to ask if sourcebans had protection against this sort of thing (which has not occurred before to my knowledge, and is not a widespread thing on CS:S), and if not, if I could be of any use in implementing a system.

The servers run: metamod:source, sourcemod, sourcebans and KAC (non-sockets thanks to our server provider), as well as a multitude of other things that I doubt would come into play here.
