This is an excelent plugin. (Good job. Looks nice too.)
Actually.... You can zoom in NS, In fact I'll post the plugin.
In a few days as Im spending most to all of my free time working on a plugin..
I guess the zoom function as it was, has been removed.
But its very much the same.... If not identical
Instead of using the Fov
Basically an entity is created I use a model all transparent.
(You dont want to have the crosshair on it.)
It is soild but not touchable by players.
It is spawned in the players view / aim and contantly rotates with the player.
When it touches a func_wall it stops translating the axis it touches
but still follows the players rotation. So if it hits a wall you will see the wall......really big like. Just like zooming.
We need to edit the HUD.txt and include the zoom sprite if its not included..... I dont believe Flayra took it out of the HUD.txt
We just tell HL to show the up the zoom sprite ICON ........ And BOOOM...
Were zoomed in. JUST LIKE any other mod independant of the mod.
Just as the same .... There are multiple levels of zoom...
Actually ITS WAY BETTER. This way..
We bind a key to +on -off...
Now the zoom will function as a gradual zoom like real zoom lenses..
You hold the key bound to it down and it goes in.
Once it is released the next time it is pressed it operates in reverse.
Even make it sense double pressing to bring you fully out of zoom.
The speed of the zoom can be adjusted however you want.
In fact... It can also REPLACE the existing FOV zoom entirely.
