I bought a cs source account. Then realized it sucked ass so i just bought garrys mod and that all i use it for.
On my other account i have CS 1.6
and its probably been the best gaming investment i ever made until Valve came in (ive had CS since 1.3)

In my opinion after steam everything has went downhill for 1.6, but now source is taking over which is ridiculous. I am not bad mouthing Source but there is just no "competitiveness" in the game. They focused way to much on graphics. I guess what do you guys think?

The last two changes to CS 1.6 I can remember were both shunned by the "CS community". However, the game is old. You can't possibly be expecting them to be focusing on keeping a game that old packed with new stuff.

I don't understand the point of playing CS:Source though. It's the same as Condition-Zero. It is the same damn game.

You do realize the point of the ads was to get money out of a game they are making minimal money off of currently? People will still play it. They will get money from the ads. Despite what you think.

They already got their whopping $10 for you purchasing the game. You've been (in theory) playing it for years. What do they have to show for the 4 years you've been using their product? Ten bucks.

I don't think it's a good move, I think it's quite shady, but you are missing the whole point of it.

It's true that CS 1.6 costs a lot less than most FPS games like Halo and such but I wouldn't mind paying some 10-20 dollars more if they were to keep ads out of it.
