Sorry to ask again, but has this been fixed in the last version of sourcemod...or some other fix ?

The problem isn't with Sourcemod. The problem is with tf2 itself. The TF2 client changes all " marks to ' marks before they are even sent to the server. The ultimate fix MUST come from Valve. Any fix that anyone else tries to make will be full of issues.

As noted above, this is not something that can be fixed in SourceMod. The issue is on the game client.

I don't know if the TF2 Team has fixed it yet or not.

The irritating part is that the chat commands still send double quotes to the server if used through the console. It is only the chat box itself that interferes with them.

Well, thanks for the fast responses. But can't be sourcemod modified to work with only one ' for commands that need that ?

No, there is no way to empirically tell whether an incoming single quote was meant to be a double quote or meant to be a single quote.

Once I get home in about 5 hours, I'm going to be testing and (if it works) releasing a plugin that monitors the chat commands for two consecutive single quotes, turning them into double quotes immediately. For those of us who cannot live without double quotes in the chat box, temporarily replacing them with two quotes of either type will be a suitable temporary solution.
