I trust anti virus: AVG 8.0, Avira and Kaspersky... how about you??

If its a free one then you wont be 100% protected Get a paid one and you'll be 70% protected

avast works fine, is free and it has a pirate sound for a name

how can you go wrong

Last I checked, Kaspersky, Nod32 and BitDefender were in the top 5. Their signature databases were updated more often and heuristics were better.

Avast is probly considered to be too good...for instance it is usually 1 of the first anti virus programs to always consider a new game on a new engine to be a bug...

I wouldnt really call that a good thing...I mean unless you like having it so when you get a new game your antivirus stops you from playing it and you have to wait like a week for the damn program to be updated....

I tried lot's of AVs here already. The best one I could find was Karspersky, but I only had a trial license. The next best one is Avira: Incredibly light (uses no more than 10mb of RAM, and always 0% CPU usage), never let anything pass in the ~1 year I've been using it.
