RAM: Kingston KHX 1600 MHz 8 GB
HDD: 500 GB Hitachi 7200 rpm
NET: Internet 20/20 Mbps
OS: CentOS 6

Server in Germany:
CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5520 @ 2.27GHz
RAM: 8 GB
HDD: 1TB
OS: CentOS 5.5

I support Linux for server. My personal opinion of-course. And yes for this you have to know linux a bit well.

I have been told that it does not matter any more.

Also as a side note do NOT :Optionally disable Network packet filtering framework (Netfilter) (Warning: this will disable your firewall!)

Keep it on....

Also if you do not know what it does, then do not mess with it.....

You can use mmtimer 1.6
Add in your metamod plugins
For linux : mmtimer_i386.so
For windows : mmtimer.dll

It's true that you can use mm_timer, but It most likely will increase your CPU usage, if you have a weak server, and you will be able to run maximum of 2 or 3 HLDS servers on the same machine with lag.

If you optimize your kernel you will not get lag and you will be able to run multiple HLDS servers on the same machine.

for Linux don't use mmtimer. Use defalut pingboost.

Also while taking linux system from datacenter ask them to provide server with RT kernal.

Can someone Optimize the kernel best for CS 1.6 server for me and upload it somewhere and also tell me how to install it

At the moment the server doesen't lag if you play but when you spectate IT LAGS LIKE HELL! how do I also fix this ?
