Is it possible to have 16 player server (either l4d or l4d2) that will allow all connections to come from lobby? i.e. people dont have to type connect ip in console?

Of course. You just have to start a 16 player lobby.

Maybe I'm confused, but I set survivor_limit to 16, but everyone after the first four (in coop/survival) just joins as spectators. sm_cvar survivor_limit returns 16, so I guess I'm asking how to join. This is for L4D2. ... And you can make 16 player lobbies? ALso, I can't get sb_add to work.

my server has same issue.

could someone post a list of the applicable config settings to get this working. I've not been able to get the bots added.

sv_maxplayers 16
sv_removehumanlimit 1
sv_unlock_sb_add 1
sv_force_unreserved 1
sm_cvar survivor_limit 8

I'm missing something here. I can get specs in but no bots for them. Either that or a better plugin to accomplish more than 4 players. I was using left8dead on my l4d server that worked well, but I don't see that it's working for l4d2 yet.
