I'm a sneaky mod so can see your deleted post. ;) That log snippet shows that nextmap.smx stopped changing the map. That indicates to me that no players were online.

This should be fixed in 1612

hello,
i'm using the last mapchooser beta on our tf2 server. and i t works so far! ;)
the only problem is, that the menu fades out very quickly and i don't know about an command to run the selection-menu again. on our css-servers we use mani 1.2r, there you can type "vote" if the menu fades out and you have not voted already.
maybe there is an adjustment for the indication time of the menu?

thx

That is why I deleted it.
When I noticed that the server was running then without players, I realized that this would not help the cause of trying to find out why this was not working.
I am currently updating to the new release (1612) and hope to test to see how it works.
When one has late shifts it is so hard to get some feedback from players...*sigh*

Well, I was just on and testing and it seems to bypass vote and go to next in mapcycle (map.ini).
Does this happen when all leave server? I left and went back in just before it was to change and it just went to next in cycle and not what I chose before leaving server. Cheers.

Ok, will do. Hopefully that will fix the issue with extend votes triggering at the start of a map and continuing on and on, but (only constructive criticism) it would make more sense to me if the option would add time on to the timelimit rather than require you to include the time limit itself in the setting. That was not obvious to me.

Thanks for fixing the map file issue. Any news on adding percentages to the rockthevote and mapchooser votes and allowing it to default to the regular map rotation (mapcycle.txt) or random mapcycle plugin (if active) if the vote does not pass?

sm_extendmap_timestep is how much time to add.
sm_extendmap_maxtime is the maximum limit allowed.

Same for rounds/frags

See sm_mapvote_novote. Set it to 0 and it will not pick a map when no one votes.

Keep in mind that neither Mapchooser nor Randomcycle function when no players are on, since Nextmap doesn't do map changes when that's the case.

The menu issue is a bug in TF2. BAILOPAN is aware of it, we're waiting a short while to see if VALVe will fix it or if we have to do a work around ourselves.

Interesting. This is the part that matters. MapChooser works by setting sm_nextmap, and then letting nextmap handle changing the map. This makes it easy for anyone to write map management stuff without worrying about how to change the map on time: They just set nextmap.

For some reason, DOD:S seems to not like Nextmap. I will try to install a DOD:S server on my test system and track down the issue this week. One question though, what do you have mp_chattime set to?
