I am trying to run this mod on my server along with the Death Mountain Zelda mod and when the game tries to load I just see "Server is enforcing consistency for this file: ...(path)... gorontank.mdl. When I remove the all characters mod the Zelda campaign loads fine. Any way to fix this? Or is my only option to not use it with the Zelda map?

It doesn't have the check for the Passing but it replaces Zoey with a Rochelle using a Zoey model.

Server crashed when using this in custom map Questionable Ethics.

Sadly, have to remove this wonderful plugin in order to play that custom map.

I was wondering if this plugin can be easily modified to replace the l4d2 characters with just the l4d1 characters for 4 player co-op mode? -- online and single player.

I see the script code is quite short and simple. Would anyone know how to edit it to work this way?

Apparently this plugin is quite outdated, most likely abandoned. But they're some others still working on 8 survivors.

I recommend you to download Merudo's survivor chat select plugin to change survivor characters. If you're using Windows, then you must download Silver's Real Zoey Unlock to fix Zoey character from crashing in Windows. Make sure to set the convar l4d_scs_zoey to 1. While in game, type sm_csc in the console or /csc in chat. Then you change l4d2 survivors to l4d1 survivors. Alternately, you can actually change survivor set in the mission file. So you don't have to changed them every time to start the game. I'm just here to help you.
