I, too, would like to know the answer to the question above...

Anyway, I'm really posting to ask, WHY DID THE ADMIN GET KICKED?
I promise that: "l4d_vote_kick_immunity "1"" is set.

So, I start up a friends game, we're playing versus and I initiate all talk vote and it passes. So we're playing along and I say "Yes, I did just install a vote manager, and no, you should not be able to kick me. But for the sake of science, let's try. I want my team to vote kick me!" So they proceed to start the vote and it passes and I GET KICKED... Ok, so we've had our laugh (haha) and I reconnect to the ongoing game... STEAMID:1:1xxxxxxx has been BANNED from this server!

WTF!!!!!!!!!!????????

How can an admin get banned from his own server?! So i run "sm_unban STEAMID:..." and am still banned! So now I have to wipe the banned_user.cfg list and restart the server. Ok, now we're back to normal...

But that still doesn't answer the question WTF happened?!

I can't verifiably answer your question about the plugin, other than make sure you have both admin AND immunity on the server.

But l4d automatically issues a 5 minute ban if you get votekicked, it has nothing to do with sm, hence sm_unban will have no effect. If any commands can unban somebody from a votekick, it will probably be removeid/removeip.

Yep I'll confirm that. votekicked off the server is actually a mini ban.

Thank you. I read through this forum and found that there's supposed to be a "veto" command? Can I cancel the votekick with a veto in the console?

Yes. You can also type /veto in chat, or use rcon veto.

You don't need to use rcon if you have admin on the server.

Yea but if everyone can see the notify messages, it's sometimes usefull to veto a vote server-side.

Just wanted to clarify that veto doesn't actually cancel the vote, it just sets all un-cast votes to No.

Sorry I haven't been around much, I'm just waiting for L4D2 to come out.
