This will remove the fog by turning cheats for the client, but not the server. It then runs "fog_override 1; fog_end 1000000; fog_endskybox 1000000" on the client. If you host a listening server the values are set using SetConVarInt so the host doesn't get fog either.

If for whatever reason you don't want someone to have fog or there is some exploit you can turn cheats back on for them using 'l4d_no_fog_revoke' turing cheats off. Game breaking things like give won't be enabled using this plugin.

    Know Issue:
    - turning cheats on then off will bring the fog back

Credit to grandwazir's blindluck plugin for how to do this.

Removing fog will make it easier to spot zombies for survivors, wont it?

I hereby avow myself a fog lover
The only situation I like to have the fog removed is clipping mode when I am a dead infected and fly through the map

o no way its the exact opposite, in my opinion, I have a zombie mod for l4d that makes the game as real as possible, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzlEzZXjsX8 a link to the vid of it with link in desc xD, does ALOTTA different things including no fog, which makes the game darker, yes the fog actually makes it easier to spot zombies, AKA light fog, the only problem is u can completely see any outlines of outdoors maps like in the Death Toll campaign, etc...

No Mercy is how the game was suppose to be...

The mappers we able to leave things the way they were on those maps because of the fog. In my opinion this plugin shouldn't be needed on two counts. One for beta testers, Two for the fog cvars not being replicated and declared cheats. Another method I didn't release added the replicated flag, but players would have to install sourcemod and run a local everytime they want to play with no fog.

BTW there are still problems with this method. A lot of things are ran by the server so they are blocked, but somethings can be changed. mat_wireframe, anything that isn't replicated or overriden/fixed by the server. You can change your player's run speed, but the server puts you back. So right now the only thing you have to worry about are players trying to see through walls, maybe making the map full bright, or other things that make the game look more ugly with the fog back in there.

I'm going to be writing up a fix for that, but will take a bit of time to do right and test.

For some reason its permanently turned off via client side.

I put this on my server to test it out and then joined another server and the fog was still off. I've tried restarting my l4d and joined another random server and it was still off. The only way I got it back to normal was by starting a local server which reset my configs i guess.

Its client side commands Author need include code to remember default values, before proceeding with other procedures. Then if you turn off plugin - it will restore values to the default.

Turing cheats on then off should reset the fog or any other cheat values.

It is very weird that the fog was still off when you joined a random server or restarted tho.

Have you tried stripping the CHEAT flag off these commands, permanently?
