Isn't there a fairly great free downloadURL hosting already? This is perhaps a good idea though! Are you intending to make a giant repository for all maps/sounds/skins ?

Bah, paying for bandwidth is sad... Most good hosts have free and unlimited bandwidth.

On the contrary. Most good hosts know that 'unlimited' does not exist in reality and do not oversell. You get what you pay for, pay peanuts, get monkeys and all that.

You didn't actually read your hosting providers TOS did you? I tracked it down for you (wasn't hard), you can find it at http://www.servage.net/page/terms_of_service/ . Note the part in it where you are limited to 250gb/day.. you can easily go over that with a public fastdownload server.


Also, no decent host is going to offer unlimited space/bandwidth. Don't believe me? Try using your "unlimited" space and bandwidth. See how long you last before they shut you down. I use SpexHost, and while they are not unmetered (you won't find a good host that is), they are actually competent.

In short, you get what you pay for, and if you think you get unlimited everything for $5/mo you are very very wrong.

Perhaps Sweden is ahead of you in that case. We have a situation where there are several extremely competent companies running unlimited bandwidth competing with each other which creates a wonderful situation for the customer.

Actually, now that you think about it, Sweden is a lot more computerized than most other countries, if not the most computerized country in the world. That probably explains it.

yes i understand that (i have gone over) i was looking at tmdhosting make some posts on my forum for maps sounds skins whatever!
