I was working on a project last year some time that I made a custom player model. Basically it was a reskin, but was compiled to use the new skin and not just replace the vmt/vtf. I edited the ctx so everyone would see that model and in testing it worked fine, showed ingame with no problems. Since then i had a hdd crash and lost all of it, but I was getting back into things and when i edit the ctx to point to a new model location it doesn't work. Even when using a default model that i know works.
All i change is
"models\player\scout.mdl"
to
"models\player\scout\scout.mdl"
And nothing shows ingame. The scout.mdl is in that new folder. and using listmodels shows it in the list. Even in the choose class menu no model appears for the scout.

Nope, it doesn't work. Player models are clientside.

I thought you could change the ctx and have that model be used for every player of that class. I knew you couldn't change the skin/model of an individual player. It didn't make sense that changing the ctx on the server caused the model to disappear client side if player models are controlled client side. And after having it work once i was optimistic, but that was over a year ago so oh well.
