He wasn't harsh. A lot of really useful plugins (one of mine included) are now useless.

Hate to say it, but I'm kind of glad they added the infected HUD into L4D.. now we can use it in comp .

Yeah, I'm not upset or anything - I'm glad they added it. I knew from speaking to Chet earlier in the week that it was most likely going to be in the patch but didn't want to say anything for definite just in case it didn't happen.

It's better that something like this is actually in the game officially & works consistently for everyone - my mod was a kind of kludge of a SourceMod menu so would never be as good as a proper HUD like the survivors get.

And as has already been mentioned it's not just me that has had his work obsoleted

I haven't had a chance yet to play the game with the patch, so I'm really keen to go home now to have a play!

If an admin/mod is reading feel free to unapprove this mod now - from what I can gather the Valve HUD pretty much replicates everything my mod did.

I would request either an edit of this, or a new plugin, that is just the part of the code that announces to the Tank how much time he has left before he dies from Fire. Valve has not fixed or added this that I know of, and it would be extremely useful.

TBH I like this better than the one Valve introduced.

Really? Thanks

One thing I've noticed about Valves HUD is that occasionally it doesn't seem to track peoples respawn times, sometimes people will just have the skull to show they're dead with no respawn time visible even though they are clearly in the period where they are waiting.... very strange.

That said Valves HUD is in the ideal place, if I'd had the option that's where I would've put it.

I could continue updating it if there's a genuine interest but I just figured it was obsoleted now, at least the bulk of the functionality anyway.

When they don't have a time amount on them, that is when they are in the "death cam" period between right when they die, and when you first get the timer on your screen. There is an extra 5 seconds or so where you are both dead, and not waiting to respawn.

As I said I would really like a version of this that just notifies the Tank how much time he has left when he is on fire, I thought that was very useful and I think a lot of players would agree.
