Hey there, basically i'm trying to setup a left 4 dead server with somthing like the sv_search_key function. The concept behind the searc_key is that players who have the matching key as the server will be able to join. The only flaw is that no one else can

What i want to setup is reserved slots where the 8 slots in the server can be filled up by the public but when we want to join it will auto kick them. I don't know how the reserved slots currently work, i was looking through the cfg files and i was under the impression that if i set the reserved slots to 8 then no one could join unless that had that flag.

Check this thread and this one.

In the future, please use the search function before you post.

I did read your post. Since the reserved slots aren't really working properly with L4D, I figured that would negate your second question.

Read this and post if you have any other questions.
