People complaining about moderation are missing this point.

Well I think people do deserve to speak what they think. Politics does get out of hand but thats because people speak their mind. Since the election is over I dont think we need to new forum anymore, but to have a religion/politics forum would be interesting and I would definitely participate in discussions. I think it would expand the topics of the forums and people would be able to speak their minds about certain thing and also get clarification on topics as politics and religion which they do not know of, which someone else might know more of to help them out.
Having the new forum would show that this forum can be contriversial in a good way and to talk about topics which most people dont usually allow due to socially acceptable topics.
Moderators: we could have several new moderators for this new forum (if created), ones who are nuetral or mostly nuetral, so nothing gets completely out of hand or anything that would talk about something else (talking mostly about religion), we would be able to moderate so it wouldnt offend anyone.
Those are just the ideas of what I think would be good for the forum. Discuss more? People with opinions are great, I think, as long as they stay between some type of boundaries or rules.
