Actually your probably a good person to ask then, do you know of any other global banning systems like sourcebans?

I am currently running it and be dammed if the thing ever works so touch and go...

I am using sourcebans as well and it's working without problems
for me. (couldn't get it to work after updating though, had to do a "clean" install)

in the plugins section there are a few plugins that are more basic but
provide a global banlist (mysql) as well.

I never tried anything else than sourcebans as i already used "amxbans" on DoD 1.3 and was happy with it.

Did you have to move, edit or delete anything in your sourcemod directory?

Because, I have had non-stop SB problems, things like the ban option in the admin menu won't show up, when the menu does work bans from the game server itself don't work, half the time unbanning someone doesn't work half the time it does.

you have to move "basebans.smx" to the disabled folder to get the
sourcebans banning to work properly.
i'd suggest to use the latest trunk version (as I do) and give it a chance
