In SC you can make maps, what ended up happening is those who knew how to edit maps (which wasn't all the hard to do anyways lol) added little triggers that gave them special abilities, aka "Rigging" a map.

Glad I stopped playing CS 1.6.

That happened in games other than SC. And no, I never even thought of doing that in Age of Empires 2 before!

Purple Nurple is also violating the GPL because you can't place arbitrary distribution restrictions in place. The trend to claim "I'm selling my time" is a stupid one. It certainly wouldn't cut it in court. It's a bit like terms of service that forbid law enforcement to visit a web site - it's meaningless. He thinks by claiming that he's selling his "labour" he bypasses GPL obligations - when in fact you are permitted to sell copies of your GPL work anyway.

Not really. I'd say it's very cheap. The average hourly salary for Software Engineers in this country is approximately $70 USD according to itjobswatch.co.uk. Something tells me he spent more than (12 * number of buyers) minutes writing a "Zombie Mod".

That's legal. There is absolutely nothing wrong with selling your work. As long as you provide the .sma when requested of you while distributing binaries. People put hard work into creating things, and sometimes they want benefit from it.
