Hi

Recently we played some league matches on our server, which caused some problems with opponenets complaining about how many plugins we were running.

Transpires this was coming from them viewing the server variables and seeing all the SM plugins that broadcast their name and version number. I tried to explain that, unlike Mani, we choose only the modules we wish to run, but that most of them braodcast their version variable. In Mani's case of course only the Mani version is broadcast, but all modules are loaded. Of which I used to use only a few. We ended up playing all but one match on our opponents servers. Which all ran Mani!!

Is it possible in SM to disable plugin version etc broadcasts globally? Not what I want to do all the time, but could be added to a match_server.cfg so it appeared there was no SM plugins running when a match was to take place.

Cheers

See BAILOPAN's post at the bottom of the first page. He posts a small plugin that you can list the convars that you want to disable from being public. I also stress, as he did, please do not hide the main Metamod and Sourcemod versions.

I'll see about posting this somewhere more obvious soon.

Thats even better than what I was thinking of, nice one! Worth adding into the disabled plugins folder of the Sourcemod package maybe?

Its not possible to change the file the plugin calls for cvars is it? Would be useful to have a blank one for normal use, but to call a 'match' file to hide public cvars when matches are in play.

Thanks for pointing me to it Ferret

SourceMod has a War Mode feature you should use instead. You can lock SourceMod into only keeping a few essential plugins around.
