I wonder if dispenser based nuclear warheads will still be in TF2, heh.
Though I don't think I'm going to preorder anything through Steam again, I'll probably buy retail this time. So I will have to wait 2-3 weeks for TF2

Looking at the gameplay though, it doesn't look that spectacular. Less spam would be helpful, yes, and the toning down of the medic would be helpful, true, but TFC doesnt have too many core O classes. The Scout is basically a joke, and the Solly isn't really quick enough to be called a core O class.
The pyro on both mods, TF2 and FF has recieved a boost, which is good, as that was desperately needed. Valve undercut him HARD in TFC. FF has removed teleporters, which in my mind is good because I come from the school of old TFC players, where you had SG's and disp's and thats it.
I assume that if Valve removed grenades in TF2 they evened out the damage of rockets and the HWG's AC rate of fire, because as of right now it takes 4 nearby splash damage rockets + 1 grenade to take down a HWG in TFC. At this point, I'm really surprised Valve has not released a master class list of features, special abilities, and weapons they come equipped with. Leaving a fanbase in the dark with a competing 3rd party made mod that looks like it will have better support for issues (I'm assuming here), is kinda stupid IMO. Also, from what I have been hearing, TF2 isnt going to be as heavy on CTF as TFC is, its going to be more Dustbowl and Avanti based, both are spam happy maps which I hate. I'll take my CTF RvB maps over those any day.
Like I said, I really wanna play FF. According to the beta testers that I have talked to, they have kept the game very close to TFC, but added enough new stuff and features (double jumping, etc) and evened out some classes to make the game enjoyable for veterans and new people alike. Everything remains to be seen in the release of FF. Plus adding classic 3rd party maps like shutdown2 and some mulching maps doesn't hurt either

. Looks like I'll have to purchase a source based game in order to play.
New gameplay vids on the site look AMAZING.
