We have been running SM for the last couple weeks, but today when we went to ban a player using sm_ban the ban wouldn't stick, they player was able to reenter the server seconds later.

Also after banning somebody, make sure you type in console:

rcon writeid
rcon writeip

So are you saying that anyone who has banning privledges must also have rcon access to the server to make this work?? That makes no sense!

What ban command did you type (show the full string)? You should definitely not need RCON privileges to do an in-game player ban.

My ISP provides dynamic IP. When I reconnect to ADSL my IP automaticly changes. So you shouldn't ban a users IP. (Or Steam ID if you use non-steam or cracked-steam, because cracked-steam ID's are like STEAM_0:0:YOURIP and they change too.)

I am running an INS server and same thing happens, i can even do a ban through hlsw and it says their banned and it does kickthem but no addition is made to the banlist so writeid would not work
