There's in fact one true democracy. Swiss democracy. Has far has I know they have the only direct democracy in the word. It means that taking decisions is up to the People on a weckly referendum, it's only local referendum which are called Kanton (I think, and means local states). Country decision are yet made by parlament and executive power. But it's a very nice start to slowly substitute the president and executive powers by referendums and tecnology to suport them. Why is it that so few is being made in other countrys? Because they are not real Democracys, they are only interested to keep power instead of spread it to people.
By the way things are today in developed countrys we could already have direct democracys. Similar machines to vote has any cash machine. Web information by experts on wich the decision is being taken. Web control on expenses and all public tax showed with deep information on were is it spend.
The future isn't going towards democracy but to global Dictatorship.
