Hello there, I'm making a all-in-one plugin, with a command that is going to make the target player to spin around. And i'm wondering if this script would count as a spinhack script, What i need to know is if you can get steam banned for this. I'm not sure this is the right place to post this, but i'm guessing it is since it's a script..

This is the "spinhack" code

+right; +forward; cl_yawspeed 15000
And if it's "illegal", could anyone tell me a "legal" way of making someone spin around fast.

But, this isn't really like spinhack. With spinhack you can still see everything as normal, except that everyone else can see that your spinning. With this you just spin just like pressing your key that is +right/+left and +forward.

My guess is that altering "cl_yawspeed" would qualify as "hack".

Hmm, i found this http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=10749 that plugin uses cl_yawspeed, so i'm guessing it's alright to use it?

Would it be possible to alter the users entity!?
Setting the angles in player prethink..!?

No, this will not be detected as a hack, cheat or anything similar.
VAC2 only checks a list of definitions in the clients physical memory.
You can not get banned because you spin fast, since it is a usual command
coded directly into the game. But do not forget to set the clients cl_yawspeed
back to normal. The 'real' Spinhack rotates the playermodel, not the View.
This is only used when playing against other Hackers - it is supposed to make the
opponents Aimbot fail to aim at Hitboxes or Bones correctly. The bad thing is that
other clueless players who see that might type status in console and note that
players Steam ID, because they falsly think that the targeted player is really hacking.

Hahaha, now they've made hacks to defend themself from other hackers? Christ, what is this world coming to...

Thanks for the great explanation, And yeah. I made a unspin command, still trying to figure out how to set it back to normal if they leave before i get to type the command.

That is another big problem. When a client diconnects client_disconnect(id) is being
called, but you can not do anything with or on the client or player then anymore, since
he/she has left then already. If you only want to confuse the targetted player you better
randomly set his view angle every PreThink.
