Ok, I don't get this part. The problem seams to be this 'port' issue. People *can* connect to your ext, and you *can* connect to your int. After two hours ext no longer works? This is why I am confused because you saying the ports change makes no sense. It's not something that changes. Software like HLDS uses certain ports as a part of it's communication with players on the net. If the server is off, then it's not using any ports period. When you fire up your server it will listen on the ports it's suppose to. It cannot arbitrarily start using different ports.

So can you word your problem any differently? The ports thing isn't telling me what the problem is. Say it in laymans terms and I can probably figure out what it is that you are trying to solve. My guess here is you are using some sort of 3rd party firewall and it's causing you grief.

ok m0gely thanks mate here goes...

no firewalls set, no router-boxes set, i have static ip, no ip.com doesnt work/update to that port.

My intern ip, and this is also the servers intern ip:
172.16.xxx.xxx:27016
i connect to the server from 'this' and it is allways the same
ip and port no changes whatsoever... check!

My extern ip, and this is also the servers extern ip were u connect from:
82.150.72.25:-port random changes-
what i mean by -port random changes- is when i start the server, the extern ip is 82.150.72.25:60943 now this odd port will remain there
as long as i keep server running, when i shutdown the server for a couple of hours and start again i will get port
82.150.72.25:49911 instead, try it again and i got
82.150.72.25:1943 and again it will go too
82.150.72.253215
it is totally random ports i get on my extern ip every single time i shutdown the server for a couple of hours and thats basicly it

server.cfg does have
sv_lan 0
and
sv_region 3
and my shortcut is
D:\hlserver\hlds.exe -console -game cstrike +maxplayers 32 +map fy_stone +port 27016 +mapchangecfgfile "server.cfg" -noipx

if u can get some sort of solution your very welcome to ask any question u like, i tried a few freinds here that works at ISP providers they didnt know and its there bussiness to know, steam said talk to ISP, counterserver.net said use no-ip.com, no ip.com said talk to steam.

Not sure what to say. The fact that you have an internal and external IP means something on your box is running NAT. And this basically what any broadband router out there does. But you have something, because XP doesn't do this without help. Once you find out what that is, you just need to forward the appropriate ports from the external IP to the internal and you should be good to go.

Hmm, I suppose that could be a possibility. I never would have imagined an ISP doing that. Email them and ask them if they are providing firewall/NAT services to their customers. You want to know why your PC has a non-routable IP and whatismyip.org shows a pubic IP.

Not really. Do this, open a dos box and type ipconfig /all and paste it back here.
