Reply With Quote #1

Hi
Just got the weirdest error ever!

We moved our server and maybe windows updated something when the server was restarted.

When we tried to start the hlds after we moved the server we got:
Code:
--------------------------------------------------------
"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library"
Buffer overrun detected!

Program: C:HLServer\hlds.exe

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state.
The program cannot safely continue execution and bust now be terminated.
------------------------------------------------------
And the last lines in the server console are:
Code:
------------------------------------------
...
...
...
Server cvars end
---- Mapchange to de_dust2 -----
Server cvar "amxmodx_version" = "1.76d"
----------------------------------------------------
I have tried to delete the files in the "HLserver"-directory and running the hldsupdatetool to get fresh files.
I have tried to install amxmodx 1.76c and amxmodx 1.76d again.

I have tried without metamod, and the server ran as normal, then I tried to run just metamod without amxmodx and the server ran as normal, when I enable amxmodx_mm.dll then i got the above error again.

I tried to run the server without any plugins, and just the amxmodx_mm.dll but got the same error...

Hmm, what else have I done that might help you help me.... Oooh yes our sbsrv.dll (steambans plugin) is running without any errors.

I quite sure that there is something with amxmodx_mm.dll that is causing this error... but how can I fix it

Any ideas?

Windows XP - Intel CPU, I can get the exact specs if necesary.
