Ok i'll try that.. I see that in the gungame sound folder theres a ztmp file also. Do I need that in order for my sound to work? and if so do i just rename my wav to .wav.ztmp? Thanks!!

The ztmp is some sort of sound file cache, you should probably even delete it if you are changing the sound file. It will remake itself.

I converted it and still nothing... I have no idea and about 2 give up.

Here you go. It turns out that the proper format is 8000 Hz 16-bit Mono.

Go to Windows Sound Recorder (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Entertainment->Sound Recorder). Pick File->Properties. Hit the Convert Now... button. Format should be PCM and Attributes should be 8.0 kHz, 16 bit, Mono. Other sound programs may do a better job of conversion, but I don't know of any free ones off of the top of my head.
