JGHG is completely right, we don't need 3-letter languages, in fact, the 2-letter language associations were made by ISO-639 and aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Though the question persists, if AMX Mod X stores a list of those language codes somewhere.. so if I write
[en]
something something

and a person has his setinfo to "english", if he will stlil be able to see the "something something" ?

Yes because the first two letters of "english" are "en".

Ok, but what if the language is "Polish", and the config files are written down as "pl" but the person sets his setinfo to "polski" or "polish" ?

I thought you were using the 2-letter language codes from ISO-639?

Check this site out,
http://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/IG/ert/iso639.htm

"PL" stands for Polish and it's perfectly fine if you use it in another place like HTTP protocol.

Because if you guys aren't storing this list somewhere I think it would be a good idea to make it clear to people that the first two letters are actually used.

We are using the langauge codes of ISO 639-1. So you have to use this instead of the full language name.
