well i use REALvnc to control my other comp when im being lazy ^-^. dunno if you could use that to connect to your dads comp and control it he might freak out, Best sulution format your PC's.

If it's a FTP server you host at your comp this might be a solution:
I have this thing "Cerberus FTP Server" on my computer with which I obviously can host an FTP Server.. This prog has this option to add IP adresses to a list and to "Allows adresses listed to login with this server. All adresses not listed will be denied login." (also works with IP ranges can also work the other way around and deny all listed and accept the rest..) May I ask what tool you use to host your FTP? Or do you use windows' silly built in thingy?

How bout how to install SSH?

I dont even know what software to run an SSH server with..Or what to access it with..

Don't know what to install on the server side (linux only ), but on the clientside I suggest WinSCP.

Try using a password with:
-Atleast 10 characters
-Alternate with lowercase and capital letters
-Include two alt characters like § ¥ Æ Þ ¤

If they are using a bruteforce pw cracker the alt characters will most likely make them give up.

UltraVNC is how i control my server box. It supports File Transferring as well. You can use the viewer that comes with it (better/faster), or you can just use java through a browser (more convenient).
