The new source update has messed up deathmatch again it just wont work!

just letting u know really and i <3 ure plugin!

Any ideas why its not working anyone?

gameinfo.txt was overwritten. Add this line back and restart your server.

GameBin |gameinfo_path|addons/metamod/bin

mine didn't get overwritten.

cssdm doesn't load since the update and that info is still there.

I would have to say your server has not updated or not updated properly. Update your server again. I have updated both a Windows and Linux box and all is well.

My gameinfo.txt was overwritten as well. I think Bailo should make a sticky telling people that if there is an update, to check the gameinfo.txt before posting. It is really friggin' annoying that Valve overwrites it each time, but it's not that much of a hassle to fix.
EDIT: Both my Windows and Linux boxes are running fine btw :p

I am very sad, my server won't start if I have the GameBin line added in the gameinfo.txt.
I re-ran the Steam Update too just this morning to no avail.

After removing the line in the gameinfo.txt my server fires right up.
I have Mani Admin ver. 1.1.0zh
Everything was running great until yesterday after the Steam update was applied to our server, 4/12/06.

Any advice would be great.

Just add the line

GameBin |gameinfo_path|addons/metamod/bin

into the gameinfo.txt and it will be fine. If it doesnt start, metamod is not correctly installed or the css:dm is not installed correctly either.

I have only mani 1.1.0zh and its running fine with it and current version of metamod 1.2 (not the latest)

I don't use the Death Match, I use VIP and Gore Mods.
I just renamed cstrike\addons\goremod\bin\gormod_mm.dll and goremod_mm_i486.dll to .old
I also renamed cstrike\addons\vip_mm\bin\vip_mm.dll and vip_mm_1486.so to .old

I re-added the line to the gameinfo.txt and started the server, it now works and HLSW shows MetaMod v1.2.1 as an AddOn, very cool!!

Ok but now what do you all suggest I do regarding the VIP and Gore mod files?? Forgive me if the VIP and Goremod does not have anything to do with MetaMod but it's my understanding that MetaMod is the base file I need for VIP and Gore mod to work?

EDIT: VIP Mod needs vip_mm 1.0.D <--update to resolve latest steam update issue, 4/12/06
Downloading now

2nd EDIT: New VIP core files have been installed, server works now.
I then renamed the Gore mod files back to the way it was, restarted the server and the server still works.

Conclusion:
Add the metamod line in the back in the gameinfo.txt and metamod will work again.
Download the newest VIP files (if you use VIP) and that will work again.
GoreMod, I didn't have to do anything, seems like those files are fine.

GoreMod was updated last night to cope with the change. Windows server owners were the only effected party.

Sweet thanks c0ldfyr3, I'll look for that update now.
I didn't know if that needed to be updated or not since the server started up with the original files intact, but I was going to test it when I physically got on the server.

GoreMod v3.0.5 Beta is indeed an update for the steam update that came out on 4/13/06.
