Sv_maxspeed

So i am trying to adjust the player speed in a config file for a script. does anyone know how sv_maxspeed works and/or of it is the right command for adjusting the player speed? i tested it out and it seems like i cant go any faster than 320, but i can go lower to eve 0, but when i try to set it at 500 the speed does not increase.

The player speed is determined by the gun the player is holding in CS:S.

does anyone know how to edit the speeds that each gun limits you to?
is it hidden in the code? where is it at!!!
