If you made changes post your new code, we can't see what you actually did unless you post the new code. I'm not sure if you're still trying to use emit_sound() like you shouldn't be or if you've actually changed to use the "spk" method like it should be for this purpose.

Definitely don't do this. Fix the code so that the file is in a proper folder location ("sound/sound/" is not a proper location; it's really confusing at best).

Using precache_generic("sound/folder/join_owner.wav") and client_cmd(0, "spk sound/folder/join_owner.wav") should be all that is needed here. Note that precache_generic() doesn't assume anything about the "sound" folder do you need to keep that in there. So, in this case, the file would be at "cstrike/sound/folder/join_owner.wav".

I didn't say it was invalid, I said it was not proper. So, you agree with me. My main point was that the OP was expecting the file to be at "cstrike/sound/join_owner.wav" so when you post code that requires it to move, that in itself is confusing.
