I want to change the appearance of fire grenade "Molotov". I edit the path to "fire_burning_character.vtf" in the file "pak01_dir.vpk" and uploaded it under a new name. The experiment was a success.

Unfortunately, my attempts to change the "fire_burning_character.vtf" program VFTEdit (http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/ind...238&o=60#c3983) did not lead me to the desired result. In the game itself, a kind of fire is distorted and looks completely different.

I try different options VFTEdit settings, but the result is always the same. What am I doing wrong?

VMTs are plain text, you can edit it in any text editing Program, VTFedit even supports it, though I'd recommend Notepad++

You can do it with VTFEdit. VTFEdit is a VTF Texture utility with graphical interface that converts VTF and VMT files. It is a powerful tool allowing files of various formats to be converted to/from a VTF format in all of the Source texture formats.
