Hello -

I help operate a gaming community with several CS servers. We're currently using amx, but I'm looking to switch over. Only problem is, I'm kinda new to all this, and I wanted to ask some questions first. Hopefully someone can answer them and help me out with this stuff.

The first thing I was curious about was if there was any easy way to install amxx over amx, since we've already got that installed. Or is it as simple as just removing amx, and putting on amxx?

Another thing I was wondering about. With amx, the ban and unban commands don't work right at all. Is this all fixed and such with amxx? I'm assuming it is, but figured I'd ask anyways.

So if someone could help me out with these, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

http://www.amxmodx.org/doc/
It has installtion instructions and changelogs you can check that out if you haven't already.

and the ban thingy works like this

amx_ban <name or #userid> <id/ip> <minutes> [reason]
PS: 0 = unlimited

Examples:

by id
amx_ban #104 id <minutes> [reason]

by name
amx_ban HaXoR id <minutes> [reason]
amx_ban "name with spaces" id <minutes> [reason]

Yeah, banmenu has been working fine. I guess our main concern was unban, as the only way we can unban someone right now is to edit the banned players file directly.

I'll go ahead and read up on the documentation and changelog cause I was just being a lazy SOB before...
