Hello again,

Does anyone know how to export animations from Autodesk Maya to smd or MilkShape3D?
I tried exporting as fbx, but in Milkshape it doesn't show me any animations.
Any exporting plugins for Maya are for source engine, but i need goldsrc.

Greetz,
Kia.

Can you open Maya's animations with 3ds max?
I'm also always switching programs...

I tried Maya's function to send the scene to 3DSMax, but the exported smd's never contain any animation (using Wall Worm Tools).

That's what I did.
Import to Maya -> Export to 3DS Max -> Export to smd.

You have to export it as keyframe/sequenced SMD (not referenced)
If you're using the newer walworm maxscript tool, there's an option as a radio button.
If you're using cannonfodder/wunderboy's there's a checkbox half way down IIRC that allows you to select keyframes and keyframe range.

If you're in an autodesk app, you should be able to send the scene between programs without any problems, and then export in the other app. Sometimes when you export them with various formats you lose skin/quads, or bones turn to mesh. I tihink exporting as .max works, but I don't remember.

Is it possible to reduce the polycount in 3DS Max with the Animation?
Whenever I reduce it and re-play the animation, it gets back to the original state.
