First up, thanks for reading this thread.
You probably know Xfire as a game client and social platform, but over the last year and a half we’ve been exploring the world of competitive play.
ESports is exploding, and there’s no doubt that the professional scene is now well and truly cemented as something to take notice of. But what about the amatuer and semi-pro scene? We don’t think they’re being catered for sufficiently.
In short, we’ve created a complete tournament management platform. The platform will manage all aspects of running a tournament, and will be free to use by communities. The core functionality of the platform will be:
- Team and player management
- Match scheduling
- Prize management & order fulfilment
- Entry fee collection and distribution
- Connection of players directly to the game using the Xfire client (optional)
- Bracket creation
- Automatic and manual score reporting
- Much much more
However, before we launch we are looking for more community beta testers and feedback. We know most of you gather here because you run servers, so if you’ve ever toyed with the idea of running a tournament please feel free to reach out and request
Beta access. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions please feel free to ask here, or get in contact with me directly.
We just completed our first large scale tournament which battle tested the system. The tournament attracted 3400 players in 686 teams and at its peak had 41,000 CCU’s on Twitch over at the live site
