does anyone know any quick things i can do that will lower my dedicated server ping and stop the lag so much.... i mean i get around 10-50 witch is freaking weird cuz im soposed to be getting like 20... others get like 100-200 rarely anyone gets 70-80 ping... =/ i got a fps booster and running amxx mod..with the super amxx plugin thingy and bhop mod.. anyone got any ideas? i know so many kids who run a ded server from their house and play on the same comp.... and have computers not really better then mine.. and they dont lag... i guess they did something?? anyone got ideas?

Well if you want to play on the same comp you realy need a lot of ram, and you sure your connection can handle it ?

post the stats of your computer and internet. If your using booster make sure your cpu wasn't too high before you added it.

You should be fine with a 16 player slot server

lmao, we got same stats for comps . 1 gb of ram and Pentium D 3.0 ghz.

ummm, by very high speed dsl, what speed do you mean (what is your upload speed?)

My guess is your internet isn't that good. If you don't know your internet UPLOAD SPEED, post your download speed and the company you get it from. We may be able to guess it . I have cable and i can hold about 12-13 peeps before it lags as long as noone hogs bandwith and noone lives in another country . DSL can be better than cable, usually just not the residential versions (unless you pay ALOT of money monthly)

If you're running a dedicated server and playing on the same machine, run "taskmgr.exe". Go to the Processes tab and find the hlds.exe process. Right click on it, go down to Set Priority in the menu and then under that, choose High. Click Yes for the warning that comes up.

Your server now has higher priority on the CPU so there should be much more fps, but it won't be perfect. Now join the server with the client.

The pingbooster might interfere with this, I'm not sure.
