is there any way to add a new weapon to the game based off an existing kind without removing that weapon from the game?


For example:

I have an idea for a new kind of grenade (for counter-strike) but I don't want to remove any of the existing 3 types.

How would I make "grenade x" as it were?

I know it can be done if I create a new command called "grenadex" or something and just having an array to check if that user has a "grenade x", but I wanted to do it as a normal weapon and I can't think of how to do it.

it is only possible to add new weapons, without replacing old ones, through metamod. you could make it a module for amxx however.

OK.. thanks for that.

I'm not a great coder, so I guess I'll stick to using "grenadex" as a command for it.

(Unless someone writes a module that does what I want)

I'll release the plugin when (read: if) I get it done

What you can do is change the weapons model, like for instance in the dual mp5 plugin. THen when you change the model, add the affect of the bullets/ rockets/ whatever affect you want to be fireout out of it. Hope this helps

If you wanted to, you could just change the v_ model of the person... I know you used to be able to in AMX
Then you would basically have to keep track of what the user does while he has the weapon(+attack, etc)
