Description:
This flamethrower was initially released with the map "Trapped" and requires this plugin to be functional. The model/material/sound/particles can be downloaded separately for use in other maps.
Known Bugs:
- On occasion, the particle effect for the pilot light will remain visible when being strangled by the smoker or after being incapacitated
Limitations:
The flamethrower forces the player into a 3rd person mode, which is more like observer mode. This causes some parts of the GUI and special effects, such as glow, to disappear. There's also a bug where the player's run animation doesn't animate properly, so the plugin forces the player to walk while it is equipped. Due to client prediction, this can make things a bit jerky, so it's recommended to hold shift to smooth things out. To prevent further bugs, +USE is blocked.
Some Installation Notes:
Make sure to modify your missions text file in your vpk to include the line:
"meleeweapons" "machete;crowbar;fireaxe;cricket_bat;katana;b aseball_bat;knife;thrower"
Thrower must be there for this to work.
Update: Added the scripts folder to the flamethrower resources.
Compile Notes:
Clicking "Get Plugin" does not work, as the code requires the smlib to be included. Make sure to download the flamethrower.smx file instead. If you wish to download flamethrower.sp and compile it yourself, you can obtain the smlib at
